Do you remember a time when you felt very discouraged about
your call to homeschool and just about the time you were ready
to fall down in tears, a friend or relative lifted you up,
prayed with you, encouraged you, and reminded you that the
Lord would never leave you nor forsake you?
Well, Ruth is such a friend and sister. She has taken it
upon herself to encourage her sister who has undertaken the
difficult task of homeschooling as a single mother.
Today, more than ever before, single parent homeschooling
is becoming more and more prevalent. The Old Schoolhouse
magazine wishes to encourage these courageous single parents
in their calling to homeschool. Click here to read our Single Parents
issue of The Homeschool Minute or browse through the
archives of the Single Parent e-Newsletter. Like
Ruth's sister, they have faced the obstacles of single parent
homeschooling, and they have held tightly to the Lord's hand,
climbing to victory. Please take the time to encourage Ruth's
sister. | |

| Single but Called to Homeschool |
Dear Minute to Minute Readers, My sister is a young mom of 2 boys, 3 and 2 years old. Recently, her husband left her. She
wants more than anything to homeschool but is having such a hard time. Right now, she is receiving some state aid--only minimal--and the state has pushed her to put her oldest in
preschool because he has special needs. She is so torn and does not know what she can do
to keep her boys home with her. If anyone has any advice, I would love to pass it on to her. She gets very discouraged at times. Sister to a Single (Hoping to be) Homeschool Mom,
Ruth |

homeschool! Whether you are a new parent thinking ahead to
your family's educational years, a homeschooler in the
trenches, or a veteran who has "been there, done that", this
e-book holds something for everyone.
Inside this book you'll find the encouragement and
resouces you've been looking for, plus so much
more.
Just a few of the things you'll learn:
- How to make your homeschool more fun and a
natural part of your day-to-day life.
- Simple, stress-free steps to teaching your
child to read.
- How a single mother balances homeschooling
six children and working full-time.
- Practical ideas and suggestions for keeping
up with the housework while homeschooling.
