Late-April,
2005 Homeschool Leadership Consortium
Supporting
Homeschool Support Leaders throughout all 50 States and in
Canada, Australia, Europe and the UK |
Welcome to the late-April edition of the International
Homeschool Leader
E-Newsletter.
|
Welcome
to the first edition |
|
Homeschooling our children can be challenging in and
of itself, but in addition to figuring out those difficult math problems
or scary science experiments, we also have to answer the many phone
calls, rally volunteers for seemingly unending tasks involved with
our group, and make those “hard” decisions, which is part
of being an effective leader.
The various challenges of support group leaders are unique. Together,
as a group, we can provide relevant information to each other (whether
local or national/worldwide), offer up ideas to help plan meetings
or fairs, discuss protocols and other important issues that may come
up, and of course, encourage one another as we seek to support the
members of our individual homeschool groups. And hopefully SOMEONE
can provide helpful hints to handle those “sticky” situations
we often find ourselves dealing with!
Every other week, you will receive an e-newsletter much like this
one, only packed with articles written by homeschool columnists
or leaders. We need your writings! Please email Anissa DeGrasse
at Anissa@thehomeschoolmagazine.com,The
Old Schoolhouse Magazine’s Homeschool Nation Coordinator with
your submission queries. No payment is offered for these, but any
which are published in an upcoming e-newsletter will include your
byline. In addition, if published, you will receive one free, one-year
subscription to The Old Schoolhouse Magazine to give out freely
to a mom (you choose who) in your support group. Your article will
also appear on the company website in Homeschool Nation or in another
prominent placement.
We also need your advice, tips and any other items of interest
you would like to discuss on a bi-weekly basis. Discussion items
will not receive free, one year subs, but please send in your advice
anyway. And look for the bi-weekly contests! Subscriptions, gift
certificates to Borders, Starbucks or Barnes & Noble (your choice
if you win!), and other gifts will be freely given with each e-newsletter!
We want to support the homeschool community’s leaders!
|
This one is more action-packed. We would like to invite you
to join our Yahoo! Group to discuss these issues with other
support group leaders. We need your input! Everyone has an
area of expertise! Or, if you are a newly established leader,
you are sure to glean a lot of great information from our
veteran leaders. Ideas, questions, suggestions and prayer
requests are all welcome! You can send a blank email to: TOSHSN_Leadership_Group-subscribe@yahoogroups.com
to sign up. In this group, we also have our Homeschool Nation
Coordinators and Contributors as members so they can link
with group leaders in their respective states. Homeschool
Leaders can support others in their state and those who might
be moving or vacationing in the area. This discussion group
can be set up so you control how often (if at all) you receive
emails from the other members.
Stand together with us in our day-to-day support group
duties, and also kneel together with us in prayer as we
all have situations within our families, groups, and local
and state groups to bring before our Lord and Savior, Jesus
Christ.

“You
give, encourage and teach. Homeschool Support Leaders are to be
commended for their (often) nonpaid positions of ministry to homeschool
families. This forum is for you. Come and be encouraged by your
peers. Find out how leaders like you are ‘doing it all’
in other places around the world. And take home some free gifts
