Let me say at the outset that I love a good devotional book. My brain regularly craves refreshment, words of encouragement, and glimpses of another's wisdom from their encounters with God. There are a few devotionals that will forever remain on my shelf, such as My Utmost for His Highest. This new book, subtitled Encouragement to Refresh Your Soul, will be joining those books on my shelf.
Mary DeMuth is a mother of three. She has known the sleepless nights, challenging children, and breathtaking schedule of modern motherhood. Rather than a gloom-and-doom commentary on how tough a mom's life is, Mary's writing points to the greater truths to be learned from her daily life with God. She shares her struggles with everything from whiny, biting children to the struggle for Christian perfectionism and the purpose of suffering. She has wrestled with some common and uncommon demons in her life, and God has grown her in maturity and wisdom. It is that spiritual maturity and wisdom she shares with us in this important devotional.
Are you weary of where God has placed you in this season and situation of life? Pick up a copy of this book for some real soul refreshment.
