One of the neat perks of teaching our children from home is the wide variety of fun learning tools available. HSP Nature Toys has some great offerings to help us in that endeavor!
We love hands-on learning in our home. Dragonflies Everywhere is very hands-on and is lots of fun for children (and adults too!).
Dragonflies Everywhere is a kit that includes everything you'll need (except water) to create two different types of papier-mache dragonflies. Our first creation was the dragonfly nymph, and the second was a full-grown dragonfly-just like you'd see during summertime. (We accidentally broke a couple of balloons, which form the bodies, but those were easy to replace.)
The instruction booklet that comes with this kit is great. It has tons of information on the lifecycle of the dragonfly-much more than I expected, and it also includes additional learning activities and projects.
I think projects like this really help learning come to life for children! We had a lot of fun working on this project together, and the learning of facts just came naturally as we worked. The age range is 8 and up, and our whole family, from age 5 to adult, enjoyed it immensely. If you enjoy hands-on fun in your homeschool family, you'll love this product!
