This Christian thriller takes place in modern-day Russia. Gracie is a missionary who stumbles upon the murder of a fellow missionary couple and becomes the new target. A young agent of the FSB (formerly called the KGB in the Communist era) tries to protect Gracie but has to battle with the old suspicions and hatred toward the KGB in order to get cooperation from anyone. The resurfacing of an old KGB "sleeper agent" complicates the situation.
The author, Susan May Warren, has indeed been a missionary to Russia and knows the terrain and the culture. This appears to be her first novel, and it is a good one. The Christian dialogue is not overdone, and the book has romance and suspense right up to the end--a real winner!
I would suggest this for older teen girls and adult women. I found it thoroughly delightful and highly recommend it.
