The idea behind this DVD is to get children moving. There are three monkeys (Flip, Tumble, and Twist) and a young host named Maureen who encourage and demonstrate the various movements throughout the DVD against a cartoon-like backdrop.
Children are encouraged to fly like a helicopter, paddle like a boat, move like a sail, hop like a pogo stick, peddle like a bicycle, fly like a hot air balloon, and participate in many other slow and fast-paced activities. The movements are done to music and lyrics that pertain to the activities, such as "Hop, hop on my pogo stick" or "I'm a helicopter now." Some of the music is rock-and-roll-ish, meaning it has a strong beat. There is a nice mix of fast and slow pieces.
This DVD is a good choice for children, ages 2-5. That is why the older children demonstrating the activities bother me. Some look as old as nine. I think it would be more enjoyable to see the smaller kids moving to these activities.
As a bonus, there are crafts and activities included.
