This is the perfect time of year for the Outdoor Living Field Guide! It’s designed for those who want to instruct children, campers, or anyone who is simply interested in spending time in nature. Each section outlines the various skills and gives lesson plans, activities and materials needed for teaching it. There are step by step instructions for each activity as well as reminders for important points to remember.

This book is comb-bound, medium sized, and could fit into a backpack. It’s packed full of useful information! It begins with the “Ten Essentials” for outdoor living and continues with how to set up an emergency shelter, fitting a pack, selecting a place for a tent (and setting one up), as well as cooking, safety, and basic first aid. They also mention things that you will encounter in the outdoors, such as insects and wild animals, and object lessons which demonstrate how you should react to them. This would be the perfect guide for camp leaders, parents, or any outdoor enthusiast, and a must have before any family camping trip!
