If you are looking for a science resource for your homeschool written from a biblical perspective, this is a terrific find! This interesting and wonderfully written 160 page volume is the first in a series of studies from the Institute for Creation Research. This book was written by Dr. Gary Parker, a former evolutionist biologist and the co-founder of Creation Adventures Museum.

In the books three units, Dr. Parker covers such topics as The War of World Views, Dinosaurs, and Human Origins. Because of his background as a former evolutionist, he is able to present scientific topics from a creationist perspective while at the same time explaining and defending against evolutionary beliefs.

The book is written in an engaging manner and includes many photographs and graphics. Each chapter is followed by a “Building Inspection,” a short quiz reviewing the material that was highlighted in that particular chapter. These quizzes are a terrific way to highlight each chapter’s main point and to reinforce the Biblical truths taught.

Volume II of this series will be Building Blocks in Life Science and Volume III will be entitled Building Blocks in Geology (Earth Science). Priced at a reasonable $15.99, this series could easily be the backdrop for a creation science study for your junior high or high school student. While there are other programs that might cover these topics in a more in-depth manner, a good foundation for the study of creation science is definitely provided.

My high school student has enjoyed reading this book as an extra-curricular activity. It has created an opportunity for my husband and me to discuss many scientific topics from a biblical view point. I believe it has also given my son a good foundation from which to view many of the things he encounters in our modern day media.
