While we were visiting friends, I was given a set of books on tape that looked interesting. My kids started listening to them and began to ask me every day if they could listen some more. These tapes are from the original books "The Sugar Creek Gang" which were written by Paul Hutchens and published by Moody Press back in the early 1940's.

Paul Ramseyer, a pastor from Minnesota, has recorded them with wonderful dramatic effect. He uses his excellent voice to bring these thrilling adventures to life. The stories include daring rescues and other exciting events but the best part is that they are constantly giving the gospel and working through difficultiesin ways that glorify God. I was happy that my children were being entertained in such a wholesome way, as well as reinforcing the character qualities that we are trying to work on with them.

The stories also include other poetry and lots of Bible verses which add even more value to these excellent recordings. I believe in reading aloud to my kids but for those moments when it is not possible I am sure glad to have such a wonderful resource as this to reinforce character, vocabulary and so many other aspects of my children's education.
