This is a very well thought out, great alternative to addition flash cards. These playing cards are made with a quality material that can be handled a lot without destroying the cards. The drawings of the animals are very attractive and pleasing to look at. In addition to the drawings, the short, easy to understand instruction manual also includes details on each animal featured on the playing cards. (Added learning bonus!) The fact that the playing cards are laid out in fact families make this a very good drill in repetition of just one fact family. Wonderful idea! The game is simple to set up and explain and fun to play. And we get to keep score too. There is no strategy involved, just fishing for cards. So anyone can win. I played this game with my seven and nine year old girls. They both enjoyed it. I thought it would be too easy for the older one, but she had a lot of fun with it. My girls left the table wanting to play more. That is the first time I initiated the end of reviewing math facts.
