Do you want to teach your children about art techniques and art history, but would consider yourself "artistically challenged"? Then Meet the Masters @ Home Art Program is for you! This easy to use, interactive program includes a CD-ROM, set of art prints, list of needed supplies, and complete, easy to understand instructions, all together in a 3-ring binder. Each binder covers a preview of six different artists followed by individual units on each artist. In each artist unit you watch the CD-ROM portion with your children, reading from a prewritten script and listening as the computer reads to you. This part covers the artist's life in a fun, interesting way. Next, there are reproducible pages where your children can practice the artist's techniques. Finally, the children use the techniques they practiced and make a reproduction of one of the artist's famous works by looking at the art print. This program is great for any type of learner. All activities can be done in an afternoon or spread out over several days. The program recommends doing one artist unit a month so one binder will cover a year's worth of art/art history. Binders are packaged by age groups: ages 5-7, ages 8-9, and ages 10-adult; however, don't worry about going slightly beyond or beneath an age group. We used the ages 8-9 binder and my kids, both 11, were challenged and enjoyed the program. We give it a 5 out of 5-star rating!
