Becoming Olivia is a fascinating book dealing with the main character's struggle with clinical depression. While the story deals with a difficult topic, it is not a depressing story in any way. This is a story of love, faith, prayer, family, relationships, teenage issues, and Christian struggles.
When reading Becoming Olivia I felt part of the family and the struggles. From Libby (Olivia's nickname), Bob (Olivia's husband), Emily (the teenage daughter), and her friends, to descriptions of Libby's best friend Anne, Peg and the other hospital patients, the reader gets caught up in an incredible story of hope.
I would recommend reading Becoming Olivia. This story was a real blessing. I know that I will look for Roxanne Sayler Henke's earlier three books, as well as future books, when I consider my next book to read.
