Rated-R Classrooms Have More Parents Considering Homeschooling

A Los Angeles pastor is considering homeschooling after his ninth grade daughter was shown an R-rated movie in English class without parental permission.

White Pines, TN - Gena Suarez, homeschool advocate and publisher of The Old Schoolhouse Magazine®, is shining a light on what is really going on in the public schools. In her Home Where They Belong blog, Gena is challenging pastors to set examples for their own congregations by getting their own children out of the Rated-R classrooms. In fact, she doesn't really even think Christian parents should be surprised that these things are going on since stories like this are in the news daily.
Suarez says,"The red flags are everywhere, the warning bell has sounded multiple times, especially to the church. Pastors, of all people, should know that the public school system is no place for Christian kids. They should be warning their flocks, not acting as a bad example by depositing their own children into such an anti-God system."

In his book, Millstones & Stumbling Blocks, Bradley Heath concurs. He says, "Christian parents and evangelical churches share the greatest culpability for their incredible naivety in expecting good fruit from bad trees. 'You will know them by their fruits. Grapes are not gathered from thorn bushes nor figs from thistles, are they? So every good tree bears good fruit, but the bad tree bears bad fruit.' (Matthew 7:16-17) Not surprisingly, the rocky, barren, nutrient-deficient soil of public schooling yields tares and thistles; Christians should know better than to try growing wheat there." Thus as Christian parents are increasingly confronted with the atrocities going on in the public school system and gaining knowledge about homeschooling options, many more parents are considering homeschooling. And Gena Suarez is very happy to hear about more children being educated at Home Where They Belong.
